You booked your Michigan family photoshoot — yay!
Whether this is your first time in front of the camera or your tenth, it’s totally normal to feel a mix of excitement and nerves. You want your kids to cooperate, your outfits to look nice, and your images to reflect the deep love you feel… without the stress.
I’m here to tell you — you can exhale now. Your session doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be yours.
Here’s everything you need to know about preparing for your session, what to expect the day of, and how we’ll create meaningful, joy-filled images — together.
Before the Session
We’ll chat about your family — what makes you you.
What do your littles love? Where do you feel most at home — the beach, the backyard, your cozy living room? Whether you’re drawn to windswept dunes or in-home snuggles, we’ll plan a session that fits your rhythm.
You’ll also receive a session prep guide with styling tips and practical reminders, so you feel calm, not scattered. Nothing rigid. Just easy guidance to help you arrive feeling grounded and ready. Nothing to wild to worry about when planning your Michigan family photoshoot with Sol Luna Photography!
During the Session
No stiff poses here.
We’ll keep things relaxed, playful, and rooted in connection. You’ll cuddle, explore, twirl, laugh, tickle — whatever feels most like you.
I’ll gently guide as needed, but mostly? I’ll step back and let the magic unfold. The way your child reaches for your hand. The way you instinctively pull them close. The joy, the wildness, the quiet in-between. That’s where the story lives.
After the Session
Your images will be filled with heart.
Within 6-8 weeks, you’ll receive a digital gallery with high-resolution images. All carefully edited in my warm, true-to-life style. From there, you can download your favorites, order prints, or choose an heirloom album designed just for your family.
We’ll also chat through any custom keepsakes you’d like to create. Tangible photographs are such a powerful way to relive these moments, not just now, but for years to come.
If you remember one thing, let it be this:
You don’t have to be “perfect.” Your kids don’t have to behave like angels. You don’t have to know what to do with your hands.
Just show up.
Be present.
Love your people.
I’ll take care of the rest.
